LoveMe.eu is an experimental social dating and blog site for people who are looking for love. We employ an oddball or non-traditional philosophy to the building of our site, an approach that is in many/most ways radically different from what what a "normal" social dating and blog site would use.

One big difference is that to browse our content (read: user profiles, photos, videos, blogs) you don't need a membership - in fact, you don't even need to be registered. Simply click on the section you are interested in, the content appears at your fingertips, and you can browse to your heart's content. And if a user provides contact information in their profile, you can even contact them directly, bypassing the site altogether.

We use this approach because we don't think there is anything awkward about being registered on a dating site and that it doesn't make sense to have it very private - because, if you're walled-in like you invariably are on a typical dating site (walled in behind registration and membership processes), how on earth are people ever going to find you? (Did you know there about 2000 dating sites in this world...that we know of?)

Our approach to dating is that of a typical news site: Keep it open. Keep it public. Each profile, each photo and each video is technically handled like a news story on a news site. This makes our site very very search engine friendly (read: Google friendly), and if you stay on LoveMe for a good while and regularly share some stuff about yourself, your profile and photos and videos and your blog will eventually find their way into Google and other search engines and be discovered by people who had no idea LoveMe even existed -  thus creating diverse traffic to your profile of the kind that you would never experience on a typical dating site.

And contrary to many dating and social sites, LoveMe is very simple. It's bare-bones, almost. We have no bling. We have no forum, no "advice", no tests - we don't present you with stuff you don't need. But what little we do offer you is very useful to you and very simple for you to use.

And we have chat, cam to cam video chat which is currently available to all users without restriction but maybe we'll later limit it to users who are friends. We'll see.

And we don't have any fake profiles. What you see is what you get and it's all real, all generated either by users who discover us through our promotion or come across us in search engines or through social networks, or by writers we have hired through Elance.com to provide us with their thoughts on love, gluten free living, and any other thing we think might be of benefit or interest to the site. An Elance.com writer's profile is always clearly marked writer and you can located them through the Browse Profiles menu option.

And LoveMe is free. It's not "free to register" or "free to sign up" or some such: it's free. Completely, entirely, utterly free.

Love stories

And we have all manner of love stories. Why? There are three reasons. Firstly, because we love love stories. We adore them! Traditional love stories. Philosophical love stories. Romance-style love stories. Sappy love stories. Cold love. True love. Untrue love. Truth. Fiction. Fantasy. (Vampire love? Werewolves? Olala...) Whatever it is, if it's about love, LoveMe.eu has a space for it. And where better to showcase love stories than on a site about love?

Secondly, because many of us have a good story to tell. Sometimes it's about being odd, or different, or apart from the mainstream, and sometimes not. Sometimes it's about love, or the lack of love, or strange love, and sometimes not. Sometimes it's just speculation, some musings, some ponderings on what is and what might have been - other times its factual, an actual timline, events from day one retold.

Thirdly, because a good and growing collection of love stories will pull in both search engines and love story readers - which with time will increase traffic to our users' profiles and make it more likely that you actually do connect with a person who matches your fine unique self.

Beware of spammers

If you get sitemail from a person who says that she liked your profile very much and who gives you an email address through which she asks you to contact her, be very careful.

Typically messages like this originate from dating site spammers and scammers who want to fleece you.

LoveMe.eu is a free site, anybody can register and anybody can contact anybody, and while we have all manner of spam blocks in effect some seedy individuals will invariably get through and start pestering people.

If you are approached by a suspicious person please visit their profile and click the “report” button to tell us about them.

About spam

It needs to be said that we have a no-tolerance policy towards spam. Maintaining a public profile and personal blog can be a sensitive matter and we will absolutely not tolerate any such you-know-what on our site, and spammers are shot (read: deleted, traced and blocked) on sight, always, and there is no second chance.
